The Castle

So, yesterday was my very exciting shoot at a fantastic castle in Kent.

I'd spent weeks sewing these huge net skirts and they turned out really nicely, which was fantastic.
It was an great shoot with Hannah and Izzy, and we had a great time messing about.
Anyway, photoshoot means an excuse for behind the scenes shots, so here we go!

Here's Hannah, being gorgeous as ever! I made that skirt from scratch, better picture of it below.


Hannah again- talking to a crocodile, as you do! You can see the skirt in it's full (see-through) glory here! I was so proud of myself for styling all of the outfits for this by myself! As well ask making lots of bits for them. I also did Hannah's hair, which was an achievement because, having had short hair for the majority of my life, I have issues with touching other people's hair!

Camped out in our base upstairs, Hanah checking out some of the first photos while Izzy gets ready to be a gnome.And then some simple messing around at lunch, where these two got such odd looks!

Then we wandered outside and decided it would be fun to see how far across a tree branch Hannah could climb without falling into the water... All in the name of photography!

And then we threw some garden gnomes around Izzy... (That's my mum on the right, she decided to come along.)












The final look, Izzy was a utter saint to do. She has a huge phobia of spiders but we stuck her in a dingy cellar with cobwebs everwhere!

Italy!

Yo!

Italy was Amazing, with a capital 'A'.

I'm so exhausted, but I'll share a couple of photos with you - they're all snapshots but they're also all pretty nice. :)

Outfit Searching

Living in London, it's shameful to say that I've never truly taken advantage of London's many, many charity shops before.
On Thursday, Izzy and I - armed with a list of recommended charity shops, compiled from lots and lots of websites - ventured into 'The City' and went shopping!

Bought a number of things, with an upcoming Elemental shoot in mind, none of which are special enough to take photos of to show you.
HOWEVER, there was one fantastic purchase, made at the last shop we visited. I'd read that it was well known for having a large number of unwanted prom and wedding dresses. And, although it didn't seem to have anything fantastic when we walked in, we rummaged through the rails - pretty much so that Izzy could berate me for having brought her there when she wanted to be at home.
But then, I found this - an old bridesmaid's dress, marked for a little under £15.



As you can see, it's clearly meant for a child, but Izzy - hatefully small that she is - managed to fit easily into it. There's a few stains, but nothing that can't be worked around!

I was EXHAUSTED when I got home, but my mum decided that it would be a good time to go to Selfridges and 'The Ribbon Shop' - Selfridges so I could spend a (late) birthday present from Serena, a £50 token and 'The Ribbon Shop' (Not actually called that...) so that we could get some ribbon to make some costumes for this Elemental shoot.

We bought some ribbons and feather frills and all kinds of lovely things, but I wasn't in 'the mood' that I feel you have to be in to really enjoy the experience that is shopping in Selfridges - also, I was dressed like a tramp as there is some kind of conspiracy theory going on in my house, where people hide my clothes...

BUT, what we did buy, was this, my new baby:


I've been saying how much I want a tripod for AGES, and I decided that then would be a good time to get it. Theoretically, I could've spent the token on this but didn't think of that, so split the cost with mum. It was much cheaper than I was expecting it to be, actually, and has a nifty spiritlevel included, which just makes me giggle.

Watching 'Genius' on BBC iPlayer, on my laptop, and drawing on and cutting out photos for my inspiration scrapbook - as you do! That space against the sofa is where I was sitting. <3
